Authorship and Contributionship
The International Journal of Human Research and Social Science Studies (IJHRSSS) is dedicated to advancing transformative research in human and social sciences while upholding the highest standards of ethical publishing. Our authorship and contribution policy promotes transparency, accountability, and fairness, ensuring that all contributions to scholarly work are appropriately recognized and celebrated. By fostering integrity in authorship practices, IJHRSSS strengthens trust within the global academic community.
IJHRSSS’s Commitment to Ethical Authorship
We are committed to recognizing the intellectual and practical contributions of researchers while maintaining rigorous ethical standards. Our policy aligns with international guidelines, such as those from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), to ensure clarity and fairness in authorship and contributorship.
Authorship Eligibility
Authorship at IJHRSSS is reserved for individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and its publication. To qualify as an author, individuals must meet all of the following criteria:
Substantial Contribution: Played a key role in the study’s conception, design, data collection, analysis, or interpretation.
Manuscript Development: Drafted the manuscript or critically revised it for important intellectual content.
Final Approval: Reviewed and approved the final manuscript prior to submission.
Accountability: Agreed to be accountable for the accuracy and integrity of all aspects of the work, addressing any questions that may arise.
Individuals who do not meet all four criteria should be acknowledged as contributors rather than listed as authors.
Recognizing Contributors
IJHRSSS values all contributions to research, even those that do not qualify for authorship. Contributors who provided support in areas such as the following should be recognized in the manuscript’s Acknowledgements section:
Technical assistance (e.g., data processing, statistical support, or laboratory work).
Administrative or logistical coordination.
Supervision or mentorship without direct intellectual input.
Funding acquisition, resource provision, or general data collection.
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission from contributors before including their names in the Acknowledgements.
Role of the Corresponding Author
The corresponding author serves as the primary liaison between IJHRSSS and the research team, ensuring smooth communication throughout the submission, peer review, and publication process. Their responsibilities include:
Confirming that all listed authors meet IJHRSSS’s authorship criteria and that no eligible authors are omitted.
Managing correspondence with the journal, including submission updates and responses to reviewer feedback.
Ensuring compliance with IJHRSSS’s editorial and ethical policies, including data sharing and conflict of interest disclosures.
Distributing proofs and final publication details to co-authors.
The corresponding author’s contact details will be published alongside the article to facilitate post-publication inquiries.
Collaborative Group Authorship
For large-scale or multi-institutional research, IJHRSSS supports group authorship. A collective group name may be listed as the author, with individual contributors and their specific roles detailed in the manuscript’s Authorship Contributions section or an appendix. All individuals listed must meet the authorship criteria outlined above.
Authorship Changes
Any changes to the authorship list (e.g., additions, removals, or reordering) after manuscript submission require:
Written consent from all authors, including those being added or removed.
A detailed explanation of the rationale for the change, submitted to the editorial team.
Requests for authorship changes should be emailed to editorijhrsss@ijhrsss.com. The editorial team will review the request to ensure compliance with our policies and ethical standards.
Resolving Authorship Disputes
In the rare event of an authorship dispute, IJHRSSS follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure fair and transparent resolution. The editorial team may request documentation, such as contribution records or correspondence, to assess the situation. Our goal is to resolve disputes equitably while maintaining the integrity of the publication process.
Ethical Publishing Standards
By submitting to IJHRSSS, authors affirm the accuracy of their contributions and commit to our ethical publishing principles, which include:
Accurate representation of authorship and contributorship.
Disclosure of conflicts of interest and funding sources.
Adherence to research integrity standards, including originality and proper citation practices.
Authors are encouraged to review our Publication Ethics pages for comprehensive guidance.
Publication and Recognition
Published articles will include clear authorship and contributor details, ensuring proper credit for all involved. Publication fees, which cover DOI assignment, e-certificates, indexing, and archiving, will be communicated by our team. For details, visit our Publication Fees page.
